Copperfest 2008
A successful Mini-Copperfest was staged at the Memorial Hall on Saturday 26th April with a free children’s disco in the afternoon, followed by a line up of local and established Welsh bands during the evening. Transit, a local young band sang a variety of their own creations in English and Welsh; Bootnic, a more established local band rocked the Hall with their enthusiastic set – hard rock music at its best. Brigyn, a duo of brothers with guitar and keyboards; Gwibdaith Hen Fran, a five piece folk rock band entertained the crowd and brought laughter with the banter between themselves and the crowd; the evening finished on a high, with a dazzling performance by Elin Fflur.
The ‘Big One’ is set to take place at Amlwch Port during August Bank Holiday weekend 22nd-23rd August. With a number of bands already confirmed, the committee are working hard to stage a bigger and better Copperfest – watch this space! Visit www.copperfest.co.uk for more information. |
